A small fragment of a Soviet canvas command tent - guy ropes, sagging panels, a flap door. Not a full tent, just enough to anchor a scene corner. Period: WWII Eastern Front, 1941-1945.
Battalion and company command posts on the Eastern Front lived in canvas palatka tents - simple ridge-pole or pyramid forms with map table inside. They moved with the front line, sometimes daily.
Painting tips
- Canvas: muted olive-tan, darker at the seams and lower edges.
- Guy ropes: pale tan, sepia wash.
- Pegs and pole: weathered wood and dark steel.
- Mud splash at the base for Eastern Front feel.
