A short section of broken highway guard rail - W-section steel twisted at one end, rusted post pulled half out of concrete, peeling reflective tape. The signature highway-event detritus. Period: near-future apocalypse.

Highway crash barriers (W-section guard rail) torn loose by uncleared collisions are the universal visual cue of an abandoned-infrastructure road. Sized as a compact fragment to drop on a base.
