Rain Catcher Funnel

An improvised rain catcher - tarp or plastic sheet stretched on a salvaged frame, funnelling into a barrel via taped hose. Period: near-future apocalypse.

Rain catchment is the lowest-tech and most reliable water source for an off-grid camp. The funnel-and-barrel pattern recurs in every survivalist manual and refugee-camp engineering guide.

Painting tips

  • Tarp: faded UN-blue or grey poly, wet-shine optional in the lowest point.
  • Frame: salvaged rebar with rust-orange.
  • Hose: dirty translucent green or black.
  • Barrel: faded blue/white plastic dusty with use.
