Pickup Tailgate Wreck Panel

A torn-off pickup tailgate panel - bent, paint scorched, faded factory badge, dust and shrapnel pitting. The fragment of the most-photographed vehicle of the modern Sahel war. Period: Modern war, 1990-present, Sahel region.

Pickup trucks (Toyota Hilux, Land Cruiser, Nissan) are the universal Sahel vehicle - civilian, militia, technical, government. A burnt-out tailgate is the visual shorthand for an ambush site. The miniature is fragment only, not a whole vehicle.

Painting tips

  • Body: faded white, tan, or dust-blue with scorch-black streaks.
  • Bent metal: scuffed bare-steel highlights.
  • Badge: barely-visible faded chrome.
