Corrugated Sheet Lean-To Panel

A short panel of corrugated metal sheet propped at an angle by salvaged poles - the everyday shelter material across the global south, rusted at the edges. Period: Modern war, 1990-present, Sahel region.

Corrugated galvanised iron (CGI) is the universal informal-construction material across the Sahel and beyond - cheap, light, recyclable. A leaned panel makes a quick sun-shade or rain-cover at a checkpoint outpost.

Painting tips

  • Sheet: pale grey-blue galvanised tone with rust streaks at the edges.
  • Support poles: dark wood or rusted rebar.
  • Mud splash at the base.
  • Optional faded paint stripe along the top.
