A Soviet KGB border guard in greatcoat and visor cap with the green band, AK or SKS shouldered, feet planted. The static silhouette outside any Aquarium courtyard, military district HQ, or restricted gate. Period: Cold War, c. 1947-1991.

The Pogranichnye Voyska KGB (KGB Border Troops) - distinctive in green-topped uniforms - guarded the USSR's external frontiers and high-security internal sites. The greatcoat-and-cap silhouette is the universal Cold War sentry.
