A long-abandoned barrel - half-rotted staves, moss and lichen creeping up the lower bilge, hoops fully rusted. The scenery prop for a forest path or ruined village. Period: multi-era, c. 100 CE - 1900 CE.
Abandoned cooperage decays slowly - moss takes the damp side first, then lichen colonises the iron hoops. The piece reads as long-untouched: ruined village, deep forest path, post-event camp edge.
Painting tips
- Staves: warm wood with very heavy sepia wash and grey weathering drybrush.
- Moss: bright fresh green at the base, fading to dry pale green higher up.
- Lichen on hoops: pale grey-green dots.
