A small wicker basket lying on its side - the kind of incidental detail that brings a market diorama to life. Maybe a customer knocked it over, maybe it was set down between trips. Period: Roman antiquity, 1st c. BCE - 3rd c. CE.
The basket is sculpted tipped with a few items spilled to one side, capturing the lived-in clutter of a busy Roman marketplace. A small narrative prop that adds character to any scene.
Painting tips
- Wicker: pale tan, sepia wash.
- Dirt on the contact side from the ground.
- Spilled contents: paint as appropriate to the scene.
