Officer tents and headquarters tents - canvas tente d'abri or larger marquees - dotted Grande Armée camps wherever the army halted for more than a night. The pattern is well documented across French and allied service.
Painting tips
- Canvas: off-white with sepia wash at the seams and lower edges.
- Ropes and pegs: pale tan, weathered wood.
- Mud splash at the base.
- Optional regiment pennant in muted colours at the ridge.
